ArqFilmFest 2013

Durante cuatro días, los santiaguinos pudieron disfrutar con la segunda edición del Arquitectura Film Festival Santiago, ARQFILMFEST, el primer festival de cine y arquitectura en Chile y Latinoamérica de este tipo, en el Centro Cultural Matucana 100, y el Centro Gabriela Mistral, GAM.

Con una variada selección de 117 filmes, documentales y de ficción, el evento invitó a cientos de espectadores a mirar el cine pensando en los desafíos y oportunidades que propone la vida en las ciudades, entre el 17 y el 20 de octubre, incluyendo la exhibición de 44 filmes seleccionados para la competencia internacional “La ciudad es…”, que recibió producciones audiovisuales de diversas partes del mundo.

El jurado estuvo compuesto por el periodista y crítico de cine Christian Ramírez (Artes y Letras, Revista Capital); el director de la Escuela de Arquitectura del Campus Creativo de la Universidad Andrés Bello, Martin Schmidt; y el director de cine y televisión Fernando Lavanderos (“Las cosas como son”).

For four days, the public of Santiago de Chile enjoyed the second edition of the Arquitectura Film Festival Santiago, ArqFilmFest, the first festival solely dedicated to the relationship between film and architecture in Chile and Latin America. The festival venues were the Matucana 100 Cultural Center and the Gabriela Mistral Centre, GAM.

With a varied selection of 117 films, documentaries and fiction, the event received hundreds of visitors to watch films that address the challenges and opportunities proposed by life in the cities. The festival dates were 17-20 October, the programme included the screening of 44 films selected for the international competition «The city is …». The film competition received applications from all over the world.

The jury was made up of journalist and film critic Christian Ramírez (Arts and Letters, Capital Magazine); dean of Architecture at Universidad Andrés Bello, Martin Schmidt; and film and television director Fernando Lavanderos («Things as they are»).
